Journal posts - Footage Review

Our teacher reviewed our footage whilst i was editing, and we realised as a group we need to re shoot some more scenes to get the most possible marks to get the grades we want. We need to focus on mise en scene as some shots that we had should not be there. To get more marks we need to : wide shot of the bedroom 3 shots of him changing clothes Variation of shots  Alarm heard on black screen The phone having a picture of his family as his background.

Journal-Reviewing our footage for our opening sequence.

As a Group we have reviewed our footage and we imported the clips onto adobe premiere and we have decided as a group we need to re shoot approximately 7 scenes. we are going to re shoot the scenes during our free study periods so we can make our opening sequence perfect. The scenes we are going to re shoot are the first scene of the alarm and the rest of the scenes we need to re shoot are minor changes we will need to make, the only reason we need to re shoot is because of the camera shots are not to the standard we want them to be.

Warner Bros and New Line Cinema

Image
For our production team and distributor we have chose Warner Bros and New line cinema. The only reason we have chose these companies is because the have distributed films that fall into our genre, which is action comedy. Background information on Warner bros: Warner Bros is an american entertainment company, film studio and film distributor that is a division of Time Warner and is headquartered in Burbank, California. it is one of the big six major american film studios. Founded: April 4 1923 Some examples of film that are in the same genre as ours: Central intelligence, The hangover.

soundtrack for opening scene

Image
This our soundtrack for our opening sequence, as you can see it is non copyrighted music. we decided to go for a rock song because it suits our genre of action comedy. We have got this idea from films such as zombieland, where the music genre of rock was introduced at the start of the opening sequence.

Title sequence research

Image
what is a title sequence? A title sequence is the method by which films or TV programmes portray the production companies that helped them with filming, the directors name, the producer, the executive producer and the top billing actors, also not forgetting the movie name itself. What order the titles are in? studio distributing film name of production team producer director cast name of film casting by music/composer  production designer example of title sequences:  skyfall, James bond The beginning of the sequence starts of with James Bond walking onto the screen and pointing a gun. There is then a graphic design of blood spilling down the screen which establishes the genre of the film which is action/thriller. Then, appears an image which says 50 years to portray to the audience that James Bond has been showed for 50 years. The first name in the credits is the top billing actor, Daniel Craig who is the main character The next sc

shots list.

Here are the shots we are using for our opening sequence: A steady cam to show the main character in bed, the steady cam will slowly zoom in to a phone on a table beside the character. A close-up shot on the phone to reveal the time of the alarm going off, the camera will stay in place as the phone is taken away and put back in place by the main protagonist. A low close up on the characters feet as he gets out of bed and walks away. An over the shoulder shot of our main protagonist looking at clues on a wall. A close up of a shower head/ tap turning on. An close up on the back of the main protagonists head as he puts on a shower cap. A close up of the character walking out of the bath room with a towel over his face. An over the shoulder shot of the character walking towards his bedroom. A close of the character buttoning up his shirt. A close up of him putting on his tie. A pan shot of the character selecting a blazer from his wardrobe. A medium close up of the blazer bei

New feedback

Feedback comments: our feedback went quite well but we missed out on some of the key things we needed to add for example the rationale.

film logo

Image
we chose this as our film logo because our character is an ex police officer and the guns represent how he was an ex military officer aswell.

Our pitch idea for our film.

Storyboard feedback

My group got our feedback from our teacher,  we needed to add more shots into our storyboard and all so think about more enigmas which can make the audience ask questions. we also need to know where we are going to put the names of the: director editor actors name.

Analysis of opening sequences

Image
The title sequences that im analyzing is Home alone and se7en. Home alone : the camera work of a comedy film is naturalistic and the characters are filmed in a way where no one is better, like in home alone they siblings are always fighting because they think they are the better ones. Sound: in a comedy sound is important in the comedy genre Diegetic sound needs to be clear and it needs to be clear so the audience can understand what it says and thats the same with the dialogue. Non diegetic sound is also important because edited sound can be used to emphasis on certain scenes. In home alone sound at the start does not match what is happening at the start(pleonastic sound), making the audience laugh and the film staying with he genre they have chosen. Se7en:   The hook that attracts the audience in the opening scene of 'Se7en' is the mystery behind who is writing/creating the book that is being shown throughout the opening credits and what it is all about. The

Title sequence designer.

Image
The title designer im going to analysis Kyle cooper. he has designed opening titles like se7en and iron man and incredible hulk. Who is Kyle cooper? Born July 1962 (age 56) Place of birth: Salem, Massachusetts what is his job?  Kyle designs opening title sequences for films to make the audience realise who is in the film and what roles people have. Examples of his films: Se7en (1995) Hulk (2013) Iron man (2008) All the films have nearly the same pattern, that pattern is where the opening scene/titles give the audience a picture of what the film will be about and what genre it could be.
